George Agu is an accomplished IT professional and entrepreneur with over two decades of experience navigating the IT industry across five African countries. He has held leadership roles, including Professional Services Manager, Sales Director, Managing Director, and CEO, before founding ActivEdge Technologies in 2010. A proud alumnus of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, where he studied Computer Science and Statistics, George has enhanced his expertise through world-class programs and certifications. Notably, he completed the Entrepreneurship Acceleration Program, Fintech Revolution, and Management Development Program at The Wharton School, USA. Furthermore, he pursued advanced certificate courses at The London School of Economics and Political Science, focusing on Public Policy Analysis and MBA Essentials, solidifying his credentials as a forward-thinking leader. Prior to founding ActivEdge Technologies in 2010, George was the Managing Director and CEO of Neptune Software, West Africa where he achieved a remarkable feat by spearheading the sales and implementation of core banking system at several banks in eastern and southern African countries. Under his leadership, ActivEdge Technologies has grown into a pan-African IT organization with operations in five countries and clients spanning the financial services, Oil and Gas, Telecoms, Manufacturing, and Public Sectors. Beyond his corporate achievements, George holds other influential roles, including two-term Chairman of the Business Round Table at the African Bar Association (AFBA), Deputy President of the South-East–South-South Professionals of Nigeria, and a member of the Abia State Global Economic Advisory Council. He is also a sought-after speaker and a resourceful fundraiser.
